Inter to attempt to prise Marchisio away from Juve

Juventus midfielder Claudio Marchisio is poised to be the subject of a shock transfer move by Serie A champions Inter, La Gazzetta dello Sport reports.
A highly influential figure in the Bianconeri side, Marchisio has grown up through the Juventus academy since joining the club in 1993 and has spent his entire career with the Old Lady, aside from a spell on loan at Empoli in 2007-08.
Inter’s proposal is therefore highly audacious, though the Nerazzurri hope that the holding midfielder’s desire for a greater wage will be enough to drive a block between him and the Turin-based club.
Marchisio is presently negotiating a new contact with Juve, who want to offer him a five-year deal worth €2.5 million per season. The player would like €1m more, which is a demand the Old Lady have yet to cede to. Inter, on the other hand, would be pleased to offer the 24-year-old his desired €3.5m per year.
The Nerazzurri are reportedly ready to offer centre-back Nicolas Burdisso along with €15m for Marchisio, though it would be a massive surprise if Juve were to accept the offer, despite their need for additional strength at the heart of their back line.
