Wesley Sneijder feels that Holland can go all the way in the 2010 World Cup if they continue to play like they did against Brazil in today's quarter-final. "I'm very pleased I scored a goal in such an important match," the Inter midfielder told Sky Italia after the Oranje's 2-1 victory.
"On the whole, we played an excellent match today, like we did in the previous rounds. We were more balanced this time and if we continue like this we can win the World Cup.
Inter goalkeeper Julio Cesar was, understandably, of a different mood. "No one expected this result," he told TV Globo, "but unfortunately these things happen in football and you have to force yourself to think that the world doesn't end here. We were very confident of winning a sixth World Cup but we're going home now and we have to hold our heads high."
Sneijder's cross for the equalising goal came from a misunderstanding between Julio Cesar and Felipe Melo. "It was a moment of fatal indecision," explained the Brazil keeper. "We made a mistake but this can happen in football."
