2010.12.17. 20:04
ABU DHABI - "It's a pleasure and an honour for me to be here on behalf of our president and the club. First of all, I'd like to congratulate FIFA for their organisation of this fantastic tournament." That was how Luis Figo, Inter's 'foreign minister', opened the press conference in the Zayed Sports City Stadium on the eve of the FIFA Club World Cup 2010 final.
"I would also like to congratulate Mazembe for reaching this final. It's the first time an African club has got this far, and I am truly pleased for them. I also want to thank the Arab world, which has always welcomed Inter with open arms. Our aim tomorrow is simple: win and take back to Italy a hugely important trophy."
Figo, who joined the team in Abu Dhabi on Monday, ended by saying: "I'm like an extra man in this family, a friend and a fan that helps them. I'm here to bring a bit of experience and luck to the players and the coach."
