Inter president Massimo Moratti was among the spectators in the Grimaldi Forum for the draw for the group stage of the 2010/11 Champions League. The European champions were drawn against Werder Bremen for the third time in seven seasons, and two debutants at this stage of the competition: Tottenham and Twente.
"It's a very tough group with no weak teams," he commented. "It's a balanced group and we have to get off to a good start. I am happy that we avoided Real Madrid. I don't know whether it would have been better to face them now or later, and maybe I thought that we were going to get them, but we didn't.
"Here I'm already hearing talk of the new Champions League, but it starts in a few weeks. Instead, I'm thinking about tomorrow night's game and winning in the sign of continuity. I hope the players are prepared. Benitez wants to win, and I really want to."
Moratti watched Julio Cesar, Maicon, Sneijder and Milito make a clean sweep of the UEFA Club Football Awards during the draw. "I am pleased for the players, they deserve it," he said. "I am pleased for them and the fans - this is a true success."
On the negotiations between AC Milan and Barcelona for ex-Inter striker Ibrahimovic, Moratti commented: "He did a lot for Inter. I hope he makes the right choice and stays at Barcelona."
