Atletico Madrid stars Jose Antonio Reyes and Simao have committed their respective futures to the Europa League champions, ending speculation of possible departures from the Vicente Calderon. Reyes has a year to run on his current contract with the club but has declared that he has no intention of leaving los Colchoneros unless club officials decide otherwise.
"I've always said that I want to stay here and it is the club's decision," the 26-year-old told a press conference.
Portuguese winger Simao has also revealed his desire to remain at the club beyond the year left on his deal. The 30-year-old says he will be staying unless the club decides otherwise and targetted further success in the coming campaign.
"I've been very calm, making the most of my holidays for resting. I'm in the same position as other colleagues who have one more year [on their contract]. I've been three years at the club, I have always been professional, I have always given everything and I'm very calm, working for a good season and to help achieve something important this campaign," he declared.
"I'm fine, comfortable and I love this club. I have three years here, I think three years with my colleagues have helped take this club to another level, we have achieved something important and I will do my best to play and then we'll see, depends on what the club thinks."
